Crypto Currency Wallet Reviews

A crypto currency wallet is the first step on your path to financial independence in the crypto currency world. With Bitcoin prices continually rising throughout 2017, to a point where each individual coin costs about $8000, it’s important to have all the information to make the best decision on how to keep your crypto coins safe.

You’ve asked, and we’re here to deliver a list of the best crypto currency wallets. With a greater acceptance of blockchain technology, there comes an increase of media coverage, government surveillance, regulations and hackers. Considering all these factors, and the number of new cryptos, like Ether, that are out there on the market, this list couldn’t come at a more advantageous time.

Each of the wallets we have listed have proven themselves to be a viable way of keeping your crypto coins locked up and safe, but each one comes with a list of pro and cons that are mostly dependent on user preference.

1. Exodus

One of the most practical wallets available, this is the first desktop wallet software that has integrated ShapeShift technology into its interface. ShapeShift allows for expedient conversions between a variety of different alt coins and crypto currencies without the need for an account. This means that there are no fees, and your funds and information are never exposed to custodial risk.

Exodus is a fully customizable wallet that allows you to personalize your interface with a variety of different themes. Beyond the user-friendly, aesthetic appeal, Exodus encrypts all your private keys and transaction data locally, so that only your eyes may see it. And, to top it all off, you can view your account data and track the value of your block chain assets in real time using the beautiful live charts.

Exodus also offers 24/7 support; making communication easy for any late night projects you may find yourself working on. As if that weren’t enough, they offer a Slack channel for communication with other users.

Exodus is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, and costs zero dollars to download. It is important to first verify that the software is legitimate and valid prior to installation and use. Go to the members area for more information on this important step.

2. Trezor

Quick to set up and easy to use, Trezor is the leading hardware wallet for multiple crypto currency use. Created as the original hardware wallet, Trezor claims to be the most secure. They combine an easy set up with a small, durable device that can plug directly into your computer with a USB, and Trezor also offers a Google Chrome extension that allows your online wallet to talk directly to your device.

Trezor makes it easy for you to control you coins, manage your balance, and initiate transfers all the while keeping your keys secure and out of reach from online hackers.
They do this by way of a sturdy little token that is used for authenticating and storing your crypto currencies. This token can also be used as a security key for the new and substantially more secure U2F authentication process.

The Universal Second Factor (U2F) authentication never exposes your security keys to the Internet, unlike the more popularized Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) that transmits your master keys over the Internet during the setup process.

Trezor wallet design comes in black or white, and can be used in conjunction with myetherwallet.com to store many different crypto tokens and coins. It’s important that during setup that you go to myetherwallet.COM and not myetherwallet.NET or myetherwallet.ORG.

The cost of Trezor is $99 USD and must be paid for in Bitcoins if purchased from the original vendor. They generally ship in about 4 business days.

The complete setup and install can be found here, in the members area.

3. KeepKey

KeepKey keeps your assets protected from hackers and thieves and is capable of securing Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dodgecoin Dash, and Namecoin. KeepKey derives its security from the fact that it has no operating system. So, unlike your phone or computer, it cannot be infected or compromised by viruses or malware.

KeepKey’s firmware is entirely open source and allows you modify to the original platform, or create your own to run on PC, Mac, Linux, and Android. It’s comes in a sleek anodized aluminum and black polycarbonate case with an easy to read digital display. It costs $99 USD and comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

4. Ledger Nano S

This simple hardware wallet is the perfect place for storing your cryptographic assets and completing digital transfers. On a small, flash drive-like device featuring robust safety features, you can store both Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as a variety of other altcoins.

The Ledger Nano S connects to the device of your choosing by way of USB and requires interaction to complete transactions. It is also U2F authentication compliant for use with other services and in conjunction with multiple other applications. The Ledge Nano S is a simple way to secure your crypto coins; it’s malware proof, and cannot be hacked because its contents are never directly connected to the Internet.

At only $70 USD, the Ledger Nano S is a relatively inexpensive hardware wallet and comes in black plastic with a stainless steel cover. For these reasons we believe that this is one of the best crypto wallets out there! For a bit more beefed up version, check out the
Ledger Blue.

5. Electrum

Electrum is a software wallet created by Thomas Voetgtlin in November 2011. A team of developers contributed to the source code to design a wallet that would allow users the freedom to manage their digitized funds and private keys in a secure manner.

Electrum integrates with some hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger products to be able to securely store your assets offline. It utilizes decentralized servers to ensure minimal to no downtime, and costs $0 USD to download.

You must verify that the software is legitimate and valid prior to use. See member’s area for details on this important step.

6. Armory Bitcoin Cold Storage Wallet*

This is probably one of the most secure crypto currency wallets out there, the downside to this one however, is that it is only capable of storing Bitcoin. Armory first pioneered cold storage, or a way of storing Bitcoins offline in a computer that never touches the Internet, and then made their security practices available to everyone by making the storage system absolutely free.

The reason that Armory Bitcoin Wallet is so secure is that Armory utilizes numerous security practices. For transactions multi-signature authentication, or multiple security keys, are required to complete transactions, and your offline computer is encrypted to such an extent that even if your wallet was physically stolen it would take years for anyone to break into.

Although this wallet is free to download, it is not recommended for beginners. It’s also important to verify that the software has not been hacked and is valid prior to download. See complete setup and install in the members area.
